The All India Engineering/Architecture Entrance Examination (AIEEE) is a national level entrance examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). This entrance examination is conducted for admitting students to various under graduate engineering, architecture and planning courses in institutions accepting the AIEEE score. Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), and many premier institutions including Deemed Universities require AIEEE score for admission to their under-graduate engineering, architecture and planning courses. Many institutions admit students through centralized counselling while many others resort to their own counselling. The centralized online counselling is very convenient for the participating students.
The All India Engineering/Architecture Entrance Examination (AIEEE) is usually conducted on the last Sunday of April every year and the results are announced by the end of May.
Students opting for B.Tech./B.E. degree courses are tested in physics, mathematics and chemistry. The question paper is objective type and is of 3 hours duration. Students opting for B.Arch./B.Planning degree courses are tested in mathematics (Part I), aptitude (Part II) and drawing skills (Part III). The mathematics and aptitude parts are objective type. The duration is 3 hours for all the three parts together.
